Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The best thing is, like with Hampshire, you save money and don’t need those ugly things that always remind you of offices or industrial buildings.

Experience is the best.
If I remember correctly, Hampshire is currently building.
Let’s talk again in 1.5 years, after the first summer in the new house.

Hampshire has a lot of woodland, which provides a noticeably cooler environment.

Hampshire has a lot of forest, which cools differently

Yes, the forest borders the north side of the house. Harmless small birch trees start less than 10m (5 inches) away, then mainly beeches follow, and the terrain slopes upward. On the north side, windows and doors are open, and a gentle cool breeze flows through the room toward the south down the slope – we have already tested this. Of course, it can also get very hot at times – then tents are set up on the hillside in the forest, where it sleeps 10-15°C (18-27°F) cooler.
@guckuck2 you might be right; I believe it will work even during heat like last year and the year before, but we will see. By the way, I have already lived in much hotter regions and loved it.
In this photo from April, you can see the location of the cooling system.

The groundbreaking took place 4 weeks earlier than expected... On Tuesday, the site will already be filled with recycled material.

We are making progress. The upper floor of House 2 is waiting for the precast ceiling, and the ground floor precast ceiling of House 1 is waiting for the concrete. It’s amazing to be able to walk through the rooms. For our part, we decided quite late to go with precast stairs in exposed concrete quality, which we only want to seal afterward. A slight delay in the schedule due to the delivery time of the motorized exterior blinds actually worked in our favor. They are now installed, and the concrete will come on Wednesday. Our architect put a lot of effort into the stairs, so they could be scheduled for early to mid the week after next. I’m really excited!
