No, it will stay. But it’s only in the other three residential units; in mine, there will be a "special" doormat with a pattern 😉
It’s installed so that it can be removed (for cleaning if the vacuum cleaner isn’t enough).
This is explicitly requested because we all dislike those small mats that tenants place themselves behind the door. Also, the gap between the door and the floor is very small. That’s why the vinyl is cut out, the doormat is mounted with a rail, and that’s it.
