Hello everyone,

a quick question regarding experts:

Would you value a Dekra or TÜV certificate, or what criteria do you use to choose your expert?
Would you (in the future) spend money on supervision during the construction phase?

Best regards, Jann

Maybe I’d choose you. Seriously though: the expertise signals an expert leaves online tell me more than the brand name of the organization under whose flag they operate.

I advise all daredevil self-builders who already try to save on the planner or construction manager to at least not wait until the construction phase to get professional support. Especially for those managing their own builds, by then the problem is often already deeply rooted, and the expert ends up acting as a firefighter.

For me, the TÜV certification is more of a reason not to choose someone. Through my profession and acquaintances, I have gained insight into their working methods and do not think highly of them.
I would much prefer an independent expert with extensive (verifiable) experience and references for this job.

More important than any certificate from a weekend online course is that the expert is a publicly appointed and sworn expert, listed in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) directory.

Has anyone ever tried the website bauexperts (-berlin) by any chance? I would like to bring a construction supervisor to the next site visit, but I’m having trouble finding a qualified choice. Other than typing "construction supervisor" into Google and calling the first one that appears, I don’t really have any other ideas.

According to the website mentioned above, there is a flat fee of 399 euros per appointment. Is that a typical price?

Gross or net?
Gross would be cheaper, and I would suspect that the appointment might be done hastily. Net would be normal; for short appointments, it could be more expensive depending on travel time.
