Black ... the new kitchen white I was just thinking the same. You can tell the house’s construction year by the kitchen. And I say this as someone who also ordered a black one just two weeks ago.

3.20m (10 ft 6 in) ... and before questions come up, the cooktop space is intentionally placed at the edge.Nice size, unfortunately we have to reduce ours from 3.10m (10 ft 2 in) to 2.80m (9 ft 2 in) because of the passage :-(.
Placed at the edge so you have more countertop space?

Placed at the edge to give you more workspace?Exactly, we once had an island that was 2.70m (8 ft 10 in) long, but only 60cm (24 inches) of space between the sink and stove. That 60cm (24 inches) felt too tight for me, since I mostly worked between the sink and stove. I never used the 3.10m (10 ft 2 in) of countertop on the wall then.

A kitchen should primarily be practical, but nowadays the focus is mostly on appearance. People want to impress their guests with a "wow" and get confirmation of great taste.
Even in the smallest rooms, kitchens with handleless doors are installed. They look good, but in the morning you end up running to the basement to get the Nutella because there isn’t enough storage space in the kitchen.
However, like concrete fronts, black fronts will eventually become outdated. Trends, especially in Germany, change very quickly.
In the mentioned other forum, someone now has a styled black kitchen. The problem is that as soon as you touch a front, you can see the marks everywhere. The owners now pull the drawers with dish towels. Of course, they didn’t expect this, but it is the price you pay for some matte black fronts. And this lasts for YEARS; it’s not like an oven that you can replace if you don’t like it.
As solveigh wrote before, on his 270cm (106 inches) long island, he had only 60cm (24 inches) of countertop space. The kitchen was probably beautiful, but cooking and so on on 60cm (24 inches) is a torture. No Dekton countertop or black or purple fronts can change that. 60cm (24 inches) is a fact you have to live with for YEARS.

@evelinoz I wouldn’t call it a torment, but I agree with you that it’s simply impractical. Maybe I wasn’t and still am not very well organized, but cooking has always taken place in the 60cm (24 inches) space between the stove and the sink.
What further extends the workspace in our new kitchen is something I’d call a work stone, which will be positioned over the sink. It’s a kind of frame made from the same material as the kitchen island, where you can cut and leave items to the side for shifting and drying. It’s hard for me to describe, but I’ll try to take a picture.
Regarding the kitchen color and fingerprints: yes, the color is bold. The process of choosing the color took us years. Whether it will be practical for everyday use remains to be seen. Even on my old light gray kitchen, I could see every single fingerprint. Unfortunately, the surface back then was such that you couldn’t simply wipe them away. You really had to apply force, especially around the handles.
