Hello,
I’m getting a bit frustrated. We replaced our Atlant trap on our domsjö sink because the screws on the old trap had rusted through and it no longer stayed attached to the sink.
I got the long screws for the old domsjö sink with the integrated overflow, so all the parts should fit. However, I can’t manage to connect the Atlant to the sink in a way that stops water from leaking through (I tried the seals with the smooth surfaces facing up and down, centered the drain several times, and tightened it again). Does anyone have any tips or experience with this? I have the impression that the ceramic on the underside of the sink is just not even enough to seal properly with the gaskets. Could applying some additional plastic sealant like plastic plumber’s putty help?
Thanks very much for your replies!
Best regards,
HP

tini8754130 May 2015 12:03Hello,
could you please tell me where you found the old-style siphon assembly for the predecessor Domsjö sink? We are also struggling because we bought a new Domsjö (but the old model) and now only have the new siphon assembly with the short screws. I would be very grateful if you could help me find where to get the old drain/connection kit. Thanks!

flowvanskaat14 Dec 2015 23:55Hello everyone,
I unfortunately have the same problem with the screw being too short on an older sink with a deeper outlet. Have you found a solution? I have already checked all the hardware stores in the area and a kitchen specialty store. The tailpiece screw simply needs to be much longer for a relatively coarse thread... Is it possible to order this somewhere, or to order some kind of replacement trap for the old Ikea sinks?

IKEA-Experte15 Dec 2015 14:41You should be able to get a longer screw from IKEA customer service.
Hello,
my name is Inga, I am new here and, as I have seen, I have an old issue. I bought a Domsjö sink back in 2012 or 2013 – but without the Atlant trap at that time. Now we finally have the kitchen in the utility room ready, but unfortunately, we cannot connect the double sink because the old trap is no longer available. The outlet of the new trap cannot be screwed onto the strainer, and even the longer screw I got from Ikea recently does not fit. Does the old trap outlet have a larger diameter? Since today, I have seriously been thinking about donating the sink for the next housewarming party – lol...
It would be great to get some help here.
Thank you in advance
Inga
