Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Really cool, I like it a lot! If I didn’t have a staircase underneath, I would have gone for something like this too. But since our basement is accessed that way and we didn’t want it open, unfortunately it wasn’t possible... Still, I’m very curious to see the final result here!

Over the weekend, we attended the 80th birthday of my husband’s uncle in the Vogtland region and rented a really nice log cabin for the three days – with a stove.
And my dear husband, who was so against the "unnecessary!" stove I wanted, took every opportunity to light the stove in the cabin’s living room because it’s (his exact words!) "so cozy."
Ha! HHHAAAAAAA! He’s realizing it now! *grumble*
If I had known that, I would have taken him there during the planning phase – so the stove topic is settled for us now *cry*

If you ever part ways – which I hope you don’t – you could mention this as one of the reasons.

Oh, that's only interesting because it's new and involves fire. It will get boring quickly.

Regarding the stove, today it was clad with natural stone. At the moment, it still looks a bit large and bulky; I hope that once the flooring is installed, it will balance out.

Large black stone fireplace structure with glass window; unfinished construction space, cardboard behind window.

Large black stove with marble design and top flue pipe; cardboard packaging in front opening.

This is actually true for almost everything in and on the house. That’s why many, many worries and concerns are completely unnecessary

Finally, work with the electrician resumed...
