Is that by any chance the Viva staircase model from Bucher?

Hi, no, that is the Optima modular staircase from Nanko.

Ask the tiler what he was thinking, with two short pieces inside at the top and two short pieces outside at the bottom.

At the bathtub? I would find it strange the other way around. This way, the joints align much better.

If this were not a corner bathtub, the comment would be valid. But just consider how bad it would look if the short pieces were at the bottom or on the sides (top/bottom). As it is, this is the best solution.
