Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The floor tiles for the hallway and guest bathroom have arrived.

Stacked gray floor tiles leaning against a wall in the workshop.

Two large tiles leaning against the wall; gray stone look, ABK packaging visible.

Well, you also wouldn’t walk through the living room with outdoor shoes on just because you might have left your phone somewhere. Shoes must be taken off at the door, period.

Not serious, right? I’m also someone who prefers no shoes inside, but I’ve definitely been in every room of my house wearing outdoor shoes at some point...

I would claim that there are still one or two rooms in my apartment where I haven’t worn street shoes more than three times.

Really? We usually take our shoes off too (ours are even kept in the stairwell or in the shoe cabinet; none are left out openly because the cats would get to them), but I’m sure I have worn shoes in every room several times, for example when we bought furniture and brought it in or if we forgot something, etc. And we also have carpet in some rooms.

99% of builders probably order “as narrow as possible.”
Of course. The 1980s are over, when you had thumb-wide joints between the dull brown ceramic tiles for that brewery-style look.
However, eventually you reach a point where narrower joints also become challenging in terms of installation accuracy. You can go down to 2 mm (0.08 inches) — which is less than 1% of the 30 cm (12 inches) narrower side — but everything can also be exaggerated (making me think someone has an overly tense attitude toward the joint, although there’s no demon living in it).

No problem at all. Just buy rectified/calibrated tiles and use a leveling system. That works perfectly.
