Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Guess how many people will show up unannounced... I might offer to act as a doorman, including a box for smartphones and cameras :-P

Our screed will dry in week 3, but unfortunately the heating system is not scheduled to be installed until the end of the month. That means another 2 weeks of heating protocol, and only after around September 10 will the flooring be installed. Hopefully, at least the painters will be finished by then. I’m starting to doubt we’ll be able to move in by the end of September...

Yes, but I have to point out as a precaution that the pool area is a textile-free zone (to prevent foam formation). Several friends and even in-laws have already signed up to “vacation” with us^^ Even the mayor...

But that was the original goal. We both work a lot and have no children. So when we come home, it should feel like a holiday.

@Müllerin: If the floors only arrive on September 10th, it will be tight. The kitchen and built-in cabinets should already be installed.

@Metalwerner:
Really cool place. It turned out really nice. Except for the grandfather clock. It just doesn’t fit at all.
There’s also another design disaster hanging on the wall.

Don’t even get me started, you’re preaching to the choir... Visually, I’ve gotten used to it (begrudgingly), but the Big Ben chimes when watching TV—just no. Every fifteen minutes... There’s one in the upstairs hallway too. But that’s okay, there are two doors between it and the bedroom. Maybe I’ll take a photo of the upper floor as well. But I have to come to terms with these clocks, no way around it. After all, the gentleman needs a hobby...
