Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

What matters less is the start and more the timely completion, right? What’s the point if they show activity for three days, move some sand around, maybe pour some concrete, and then disappear for weeks? Since our builder knew exactly that our current apartment would be sold by September 1st and that we absolutely have to move out at least two weeks later, he planned everything to fit that timeline. Anything else would be pointless. Once it really gets going, everything has to progress smoothly and continuously; otherwise, they keep having to start over again. Karsten

This is terrible, why is that?
I specifically had it agreed in the building contract that construction must start no later than 4 weeks after the building permit / planning permission is granted, and from that point there are 5.5 months allowed.

Anything under 7 months is reckless.
Additives to speed up drying, for example of the screed, cost unnecessarily more and should be avoided.
What use is it if the builder rushes through the job? That only leads to poor workmanship.
There are clients who reject the 3-month option from Viebrockhaus and deliberately choose a longer construction period.

But enough philosophy:

Photos should be posted here, questions can be looked up using the search function or posted as a new thread.

5.5 months for a bungalow with 112 m² (1,206 sq ft) without a basement is by no means negligent and certainly not shoddy work.

No, but in mid-September he is still in his burrow.
