Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

After May 2015:

Oh, and my husband says we have Star Wars vehicles on the property

That small yellow roller-Mars rover really does give that impression.

The carpenters are a really well-coordinated team!

So far, we are completely happy with our own planning! Everything looks great, just like in Sweet Home 3D. I’m attaching the plans again.

What we don’t like so much is that the neighboring houses and the street are very close, and right now there is a full view into the kitchen and living room (of course, plants will be added, curtains will be installed, etc.). But we were aware of this beforehand, and finding another plot in this area would have taken a few more years and cost tens of thousands of dollars more...

The topping-out ceremony is on Saturday; next week the windows and roof tiles will be installed.

We finally visited our dripstone cave. We expected more water.

The basement from Glatthaar turned out really well
Spiral concrete staircase in the stairwell, framed by wooden boards.

Damp ceiling with many water droplets, condensation visible on the surface.

Person in unfinished concrete shell, seen from behind, standing next to a semicircular staircase.

Empty, gray concrete room with round ventilation openings in the wall and a small window.

Dark ceiling with many white spots like a starry sky; ventilation on the right, round opening on the left.
