Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

But the height difference to the neighbor is really significant.
A lot of silly things are regulated in the building plan / development plan, but something like this is allowed.

There seems to be a slope, if I’m seeing that correctly [emoji848]

No, terrain modifications are definitely regulated. Although perhaps still a bit too lenient—I always shake my head when I read here about someone planning to build a massive retaining wall made of L-shaped concrete blocks towards their neighbor, just to avoid having a basement. Currently, many slopes that barely miss the conditions for vineyards and that are flatter than some military training grounds are being designated as building land.

Impossible. Around 2 p.m., a friend called to say our construction fence had fallen over and asked if he should put it back up or secure it safely against the storm. He cleared the fence before it could fall onto the street again.
Now my mother has been informed that all the scrap wood including pallets is gone.

Storm. This morning. Trash bins blown several meters away. The blue portable toilets tumbling across the street. Our bushes, still small, partly flattened by the wind. The sea is white like snow, the windows of the houses covered in salt from the air. Fortunately, temporary fencing is not really common here. I want to go to the harbor soon to check for high water. Just earlier at 10:00, it was still so fierce that it was better to stay indoors or move cautiously in a crouched position. Crouched stance. Karsten

Wind force 10 here. From 11 onwards, it’s considered a hurricane.
Insulated panels stored by the neighbor have been blown over to our side and are now caught on the new fence.
