After yesterday’s 13-hour day and laying half a kilometer of empty conduit for the ground floor, it was all the more enjoyable to take in the first view in the evening sun.

What bothers me almost more than the protruding post are these little holes. They’re too small for light and air, but too large in terms of appearance. For children, however, they’re tempting to stick things through.

Yep. That is, um... for better ventilation of the staircase. *cough*
The stair builder already told me during the initial measurements that there would be a little hole like that. At least it’s small enough so that no whole child can fit through it.
