Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The move was through the patio door,
2-leaf without a central mullion, clear width 1.7m (5 ft 7 in)

It was the same for us 🙂

After consulting with the craftsmen, they will widen our door opening by 4 cm (1.6 inches). This way, the door will be almost as large as before.

The door can be adjusted to fit the door opening, as long as the additional cost does not double the price of the door, which is acceptable.

The finishing work will be somewhat more complex, as baseboards, among other things, also need to be modified. The cost should still remain within the (door) frame.

Another small milestone reached. Our interior staircase has finally arrived. It was a tough decision to make.

Metal staircase with open wooden steps in unfinished interior, raw masonry and window on the right.

Unfinished interior with steel staircase, rough walls, cables on the floor and large window to the outside.

My spotlights also caused sleepless nights because I had to measure, drill, and plaster them without the staircase in place. I calculated the exact positions based on the plan and repeatedly measured from the zero line. Conclusion: The effort was worth it.

Wooden staircase leaning diagonally against white block wall in shell construction, orange extension cable bottom right.
