Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

When the woman goes cross-country skiing with the child, it’s up to the man staying at home to thoroughly test the 5.1 system 😎 😀

And when the man comes home from work and can already hear the system from outside, either the child has grown up or the woman also enjoys some noise now and then.
There really should be a thread about how to set up sound in the open-plan living area.

Flat-screen TV on wooden table, flanked by two floor-standing speakers; Netflix interface visible.

Black glossy side table next to cream leather sofa; wall speaker top left.

The furnishings are still a leftover from long ago.

Not at all... that’s not necessarily needed for Rosamunde Pilcher either... :p

Maybe a good soundbar will be added to the living room someday. 😀

Ah, Devil System 8 is a good choice, but placing the subwoofer in the corner is not ideal...

The system is already a few years old. I initially planned to place the subwoofer next to the screen, but it felt too cramped there. Unfortunately, the room doesn't offer any other spots to set it up. The bass is still absolutely amazing!

In the scene from the movie Interstellar where the crew leaves Earth, it really feels like the couch is mounted on the rocket.

With Metro Last Light and Resident Evil, the sound is so immersive that I almost soil myself 😀
