Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Not a city, a village with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants.
Not much here.
Primarily will be a play area. A Rumbler Rose and not sure what else will go in front of the retaining wall.
Various plants will be planted along the small wall, but definitely no dense privacy hedges like Thuja.

Next year, the area in front of the house will be done. The yard will be paved, with a perennial bed, prairie garden, and a small orchard meadow. However, these will be bush trees, not standard trees. The area behind the house is planned for 2020.

A lot of time and money goes into this, even with a mix of DIY and hired work.

Niri is a total of 1,200 m² (approximately 13,000 sq ft), so about 300 m² (approximately 3,200 sq ft).

Isn't it warmer where you are? Could you arrange something with wine and sitting underneath?

Wine turns quite sour. Here is the Bavarian refrigerator. Franconian wine is grown a bit further south, and it is warmer along the Main River.

Still, it might be worth trying. If it doesn’t taste good or look appealing, it will be removed again.

On Friday, the precast concrete ceiling was delivered. Yesterday morning, we completed our first self-performed work by installing all the lamp outlets, empty conduits, and the high-voltage cable into the ceiling. Early next week, the ceiling will be concreted.

The picture doesn’t seem to show many empty conduits though – or is that just an impression?
