Everything is prepared so that the roof tiles can be placed and the windows installed. Next week, the building will be fully sealed. Finally

My Neff oven heats up quickly and evenly. No need to turn cakes or pizzas.
The Slide & Hide door was the main reason for buying it, and it’s really great. I also like the controls.
In my opinion, brands in the same price range don’t differ much. I think the function needs to suit your needs. Slide & Hide only makes sense with built-under ovens. Our Miele cost 699 euros and we are very satisfied. Slide and Hide is a great marketing gimmick, but nothing more. In 20 years, I haven’t once burned myself on the oven door. And to prevent heat loss, you usually only open it briefly. Absolute nonsense.
It’s interesting how personal opinions are often taken as universal truths... Just because someone doesn’t need something themselves doesn’t mean it’s completely pointless.
I also wouldn’t say that ovens with a door opening upwards are totally ridiculous.
In my view, this feature definitely offers an advantage. For example, when the stove is installed at a higher level, the door is not right in front of your chest or stomach.
And this comes from someone who has never burned themselves on the stove AND who decided against a Neff with this feature.

chand198628 Sep 2018 10:531.) The Slide&Hide feature makes sense when you have something located UNDER the oven (like a warming drawer or similar), from which you want to transfer items. This is not possible with a standard oven door.
2.) You can stand closer to the oven when removing heavy dishes (such as a 3kg (6.6 lbs) roast in a cast iron pot, etc.) and take them straight out to the front. The Hulk might be able to do this with outstretched arms, but I cannot.
The "marketing gimmick" was something I had really been waiting for. It has practical value, depending on the use.

I started a new thread about kitchen appliances to keep the discussions here manageable: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/rund-um-die-Küchengeräte-Herd-Ofen-Mikrowelle.28892/
