Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

After 10 years, the Minister of Culture starts, it gets too dirty and looks bad again,
it needs renovation,
after 20 years there was a renovation.
Now another 20 years are starting again...

Here is our version of a "reading corner." Unfortunately, the view is still somewhat blocked, and the seat cushion is missing, but it’s already being used.

@ullw889 could you share more about the beautiful window seat?
Do you know how the window seat is secured? Is there a weight limit for sitting on it? 😀
I assume it was custom made by a carpenter? Would you be willing to share the approximate costs? A private message is fine too.

Impregnation is the key.

Of course.
But you can also hire a gardener every year to do the cleaning. They come with a special brush and gently scrub the surface. ;-)

But seriously, these are outdoor coverings. They have to withstand that.

It’s always up to each person how they clean their stones.
You can use a pressure washer, but don’t get too close.
The company Rinn (Rinn Concrete and Natural Stone Ltd.) explained to me that you should gently apply water with soap over the surface 1-2 times a year, let it soak for about 1 hour, then rinse off with a garden hose.

@guckuck2 My down jacket is also meant for outdoor use. Still, because of the down filling, I take it to the dry cleaners and don’t wash it myself.
People apply face cream to their skin and care for it, even though skin can handle exposure.
A roof is also for outdoors and can withstand everything. Still, it looks unattractive if parts are covered with moss or other deposits.
Your comparisons don’t quite hold up...

It looks really nice!

I’m not exactly sure. I only know that the color is called "sand."

I really appreciate the vehicle floor tiles for the terrace. They are so durable and low-maintenance. There are already enough things to take care of around the house; I don’t want to add any extra hassle to worry about. 🙂
