Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Well, your questioning style isn’t exactly reserved either. So you get the fitting answer. You can figure out the factual answer yourself, right? For pipes installed within the floor slab, you need at least a 22cm (9 inches) thick ceiling slab. That’s it.

Have a nice evening

We are planning to have tall cabinets on one side and dressers on the other, but I’m still wondering whether the space between should be 100, 110, or 120 cm (39, 43, or 47 inches).

If I remember correctly, we thoroughly discussed this exact setup with @R.Hotzenplotz. I generally differentiate between "closet space" and "dressing area," meaning just reaching in and pulling things out versus having enough room in front of the mirror to do a “fashion show.” In the first case, 100 cm (39 inches) is enough if one side is only half height; for the second case, 120 cm (47 inches) is recommended—and even more if both sides are full height.

You have two levels in the outdoor area now?
The slope really becomes visible.

I believe the last photo also shows a change in ground level on the neighboring property already—if I remember correctly, that neighbor’s plot is somewhat lower.

@11ant
Yes, the last one belongs to the neighbor. That's why it never looked too bad.

Are they really supposed to go into the screed or just under it? How high is the floor construction meant to be?

All that stuff goes under the screed. I think the build-up is about 18cm (7 inches).

Regarding the topic of the width of a dressing room/walk-in closet:

Here are a few photos from us.
Since we reduced the house width by 25cm (10 inches), we had no choice but to take that space away from the dressing room.
The final rough dimension is 2.135m (7 ft) wide. The dressing room is 4.40m (14 ft 5 inches) long.
On the exterior wall with the window, the cabinets have a standard depth of 64cm (25 inches), while on the interior side they are shallower at 46cm (18 inches). This leaves a passage width of 1.02m (3 ft 4 inches).

That is acceptable, but naturally I would have preferred it to be wider.

Next to the robotic vacuum, there is usually a laundry basket.
I want to install a bench on the wall/cabinet to cover both.
The corner would need to be rounded to prevent bumping into it all the time.

Bright walk-in white closet with mirrored fronts and two robotic vacuums.

Narrow hallway with white cabinets on the left, drawers on the right, beige floor tiles, ceiling lights.

Cool, thank you very much.
Yes, the 25cm (10 inches) is really missing there. With it, things would definitely have been much easier, but I think it still works quite well individually like this.
