Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

ibs. the transition between tiles and gabions is too harsh

On a large monitor, you can see that these are steel mesh panels with inserted strips.
On a smartphone, it initially also looked like tiles.

I have almost gotten used to gabions, but that plastic mesh used to make a wire fence opaque, I find absolutely terrible every time.
It’s not really my garden either – but it doesn’t have to be to my taste.

Besides, there seem to be many nice green bushes and shrubs from the neighbor behind the plastic. So why use the plastic at all?

I think they are good. For example, I definitely didn’t want a wooden fence for that purpose. Tastes are just different.

@Oliver696 Nice bathroom! The only thing I would have chosen differently are the small tiles in the shower niche. But otherwise, really great, especially for a complete DIY project.

I've been looking for the picture where this is shown. What do you mean?

There is something that looks like a wall, but isn’t one. That’s probably what she means.
The Romans once said: De mortuis nihil nisi bene. About the dead, one says nothing except good.
We could apply that to our houses and gardens as well, couldn’t we? I’ll say nothing about this garden. K.

We are making steady progress.

The stack of finished components is continuously growing:

Stack of raw wooden beams and construction timber on the construction site next to the house

The basement is already being prepared for the interior work. The hot water storage tank is installed in the utility room and already enclosed:

Interior with OSB walls and wood paneling, visible electrical installations.

Unfortunately, the photo is a bit blurry. Insulation material will still be added here (yes, it’s cellulose!). Otherwise, the basement for technical equipment is still empty (but that will change soon).

The workshop already has lighting and a power strip installed (this is where the workbench will be later):

The homeowner is already considering moving in early. After all, the toilet in blue plastic is already installed.

However, that plan was put on hold: until then, the (weather-protected) workshop will serve as the construction team's base.
So he has to wait a little longer. Although he would love to have started by turning the door openings into a workbench.
