I kind of like the black color, I almost think it could be left like that.
Look at the stack in front of the house—you’re standing on it. Just plain EPS insulation, thermal conductivity 0.032 W/(m·K).
By the way, I disproved the myth about "easily flammable Styrofoam" through personal testing.
Nothing happens with a lighter (other than melting), and even with a Bunsen burner, I couldn’t get the material to ignite. As soon as the flame was removed, everything stopped.
