I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

There is quite a bit of sunburn damage here as well.

If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, the apple tree will probably be watered for the first time in over 60 years. I think it is suffering more than last year. Some bushes look as if it were October.

Today I saw a garden where ropes were stretched and umbrellas hung between them as sun protection.

Today I mowed the first part of our meadow, which, by the way, was still green and in bloom without any irrigation. And in the process, I found two of these...

Yellow spider with a striped abdomen sitting in a web in front of grass and herbs.

A wasp spider – amazing, isn’t it?

A lawn that is sufficiently fertilized and watered will not burn in the sun. Of course, it is possible that some lawns growing on overly sandy soil may not be adequately sustained by watering only once a day.

Our lawn is burning. Sandy soil means you can’t water enough. But it recovers whenever it rains.

At the edge, the concrete simply draws away the remaining water... this minor issue can only be compensated with a lot of water during extended drought periods.

So, installing a dimpled membrane there does make a difference.
