I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

A nice rye bread, a proper farmhouse loaf. Maybe also a crusty white bread, but sourdough-based as well. We’ll see.
I’ve already bought some good flour. Unfortunately, the mill where you used to get various types of flour is no longer around in our district town. But I actually found a mill nearby still selling flour directly through the internet. Now I have 2.5kg (5.5 lbs) each of rye flour type 1150, wheat flour types 550 and 1050, and light emmer flour. I’m curious about the emmer flour!

Fummelbrett!18 Jun 2020 16:21@Climbee That sounds great! I’m happy for you that you’ll soon be able to use your oven for the first time. One thought (please don’t think I’m crazy...): Take a walnut-sized piece of bread dough, sprinkle some caraway seeds on it, and bake it as the very first item in the oven. It doesn’t take long. Whether it’s eaten or not doesn’t matter – it will be good for the oven, the house, and everything around it. Don’t ask me why, I don’t know, I just know it will be good.

@Climbee Unfortunately, many shops in the UK do not ship plants to Germany.
@hampshire do you perhaps know any?
Before the pandemic, Climbee used to drive over and visit garden centers and nurseries. The islanders really know their flowers and gardens. Also, some garden magazines.Unfortunately, I don’t have any current contacts for British plant suppliers. The greenhouse and chicken coop were ordered before the pandemic, and until now we have always transported plants ourselves by car or motorhome. As promised, here are the pictures:
First fire in the stove!

The stove shell otherwise:

And the substructure for the wooden terrace was also finished today:

Tomorrow the decking boards will be installed on top, so by the weekend we will already have our wooden terrace! It will still be without a front railing, but then we can finally walk around the corner from the balcony and go outside to the garden level directly from the dining area.
