I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

The wall is really great! Something like that would also fit well in our place.

The garden work hasn’t progressed yet.
It’s raining.
I had almost forgotten what that feels like.

Meanwhile, the garden center is hosting late-night shopping for the ladies.
Just don’t bring children along.
You admire a plant here, have a little chat there, and before you know it, the cart is full.

Something like that ops:
Sounds good.
Is there going to be a men’s night for grill shopping? Or something like that?

Here in our plant and beverage market, there actually is late-night shopping and holiday craft workshops for the ladies, as well as grilling classes for the gentlemen! Always fully booked or well attended!

We currently have a problem with our lawn; along the edging stones, it’s practically burning up. I know it’s hot outside and yes, I water it, but the edges still get damaged..

I assume everything will recover after the heat…

Everything is dense again. I helped by overseeding, previously scarified with a hand rake and removed the dead grass.

Still, I have a few questions.

Why does moss grow between the grass? Is the soil in that area too wet and with too little sunlight? What can be done about it? There is drainage but what else?

The grass surface is not dense enough for me — should I mow more? Or should I switch grass species, and if so, which ones and how do I apply them — just overseed on top?

Moss is a sign of acidic soil. Adding some lime will help, and you’ll see the moss disappear. It also does not respond well to fertilizer.
