I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Hello gardening enthusiasts,
I’ve had to retire my petrol lawn mower and take it to the recycling center.
Now there’s peace and quiet in the neighborhood...
What to do next?
Robot mower? No. I want to have something to do myself.
Battery-powered? No. I find it wrong that children have to mine rare earth metals for our batteries.
Petrol again? Possibly.
Or? Does anyone here have a sickle mower? A purely mechanical one with a cutting cylinder at the front, like a small combine harvester? Fiskars, but also Al-Ko or Gardena make something like this.
If you have one: please share your experience. Is it hard to push? How is the cutting result? Our lawn is about 250–300 sqm (2700–3200 sq ft), fairly flat and not very complex. Karsten

The cross-section is by far the best with a reel mower. But you really need strong arms for that. Definitely hard work.
Battery-powered mowers have lost favor with me. They simply lack the power to trim the lawn down to a height of 2cm (0.8 inches). The battery mower keeps stopping all the time.
So if electric, then corded. Otherwise, back to petrol. Right now is a good time to buy, as there are plenty of deals at the end of the season.
