I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Addendum: The brown "stains" on the paving are still from the rain.
In another location, I have already planted two "twining honeysuckle, Lonicera similis var. delavayi" as a test. Here too, I hope the young plants will survive the winter.

I also grew the honey tomato last year. It had a very fruity taste, but for me, the yield was nowhere near as high as advertised online.

@Pinkiponk Your husband did a great job with that. It looks very harmonious!

As you know, we received the information the evening before the selection meeting that our house would be more expensive by a large five-figure amount, which caused us to panic and cut many things. As a result, the exterior of the house is now missing features that we will have to add later (fascias, shutters, etc.).
- The garage will still be painted in the color of the house.

So I correctly remembered that you wanted fascias. I find the standard garage much more suitable than the originally planned sunroom carports. What is that drum-shaped object at the corner by the field edge?

Also, I feel like building another house. Closer to Leipzig, smaller and age-/disability-friendly, or maybe right by a lake. We’ll see.

Yes, the third house for yourself.

I had hoped for more of a sweet flavor than fruity. But we’ll see how it tastes to me and suits my preference.

That’s true. It was also a huge amount of work. As mentioned, most of the bricks had to be shaped by hand individually. My husband and I find it amusing that now all the tradespeople who still come to the house sometimes, the former site manager, or people passing by, ask if he would take on paving work for them. Even though it’s not his profession.

Exactly, and I also really like shutters, so the house has a more “nostalgic” rather than “modern” look.

I prefer the garage, too, even though I originally didn’t want either a garage or carport. That was my husband’s wish. I usually find car parking spots unattractive—but maybe that’s just because of the cars parked there.
The “lottery drum” is a rotating composter. We had to buy a composter and provide proof of ownership; otherwise, we would have had to rent an organic waste bin from the city.

That’s right. But maybe I simply miss interacting with you and the other commenters. ;-) Although, if we do build a new house again, that’s actually one of the things I’m most looking forward to: exchanging ideas with all of you.

Pinkiponk, last year many of my tomatoes were somewhat tasteless. Not comparable to 2022. Feel free to try it for one or two years.
I will be growing around 20 varieties again.
