I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

The chickens have arrived – Polly, Betty, Dotty, and Gloria are already laying their first eggs. Thanks to apparently irresistible hand-feeding with mealworms, they have become quite tame and return to the coop on their own at dusk. I hope the cage and predator protection are sufficient. We will fence off a free-range area with an electric fence. I am more joyful about the happy glow of my wife than about the chickens, which I wouldn’t have chosen myself. That’s how it should be; I have my own toys too. I wonder which one that might be?

Black caravan on an unpaved yard, next to tractors, wooden house, and trees.

Chicken in a green wire chicken enclosure next to a wooden coop; ground covered with lettuce leaves.

Several chickens with black-and-white striped feathers behind green wire mesh in an enclosure.

Wooden chicken coop under green netting; a chicken sits on the roof edge.

Two eggs on a green knitted fabric, outdoors in daylight.

Optimist – I mean regarding the vacation...
Yep! Without optimism and some normality, life doesn’t make much sense. Apartment on Rhodes, booked last year. We’ll go along with everything if necessary. Except quarantine. That would be a hassle.
But luck is on my side: I’m going to be vaccinated next week or the week after 😀 I’m so excited!

You lucky one.
It will take a while here. We are still busy working through the top priority tasks. It’s slow going because much of it is being handled by mobile teams. Although Bavaria is doing well, and so is our district.

Personally, I was expecting to get my vaccination in late summer. But now there is an option at work for an initially prioritized group. I assume the AstraZeneca vaccine is already gone 😉
