I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

What happens if someone made a mistake and accidentally planted them in June? Asking for a friend... 😀

If they take well, nothing happens. It's just less likely that they will establish easily with minimal effort.

I would say to focus more on ensuring adequate moisture.

What type of block did you build with?

The inexpensive concrete block, reinforced with steel and filled with concrete. There's no need for insulation or anything like that – it just has to be stable. So keep it cost-effective!

Phew, I’ve already dealt with concrete form blocks for a wall. Apart from the fact that you’d have to cut them with a large angle grinder (for our project), mixing the concrete is quite labor-intensive. Using calcium silicate blocks bonded with adhesive would be much faster. The only downside is the mess when cutting. Hmm.

Can’t someone just say, “Aerated concrete is no problem, go for it!” 😀

Alternative: Using traditional masonry techniques—no adhesive, no cutting, just a good feel for the material, a keen eye, a hammer, and natural materials like stones. The downside: it requires a lot of patience to gain experience...
Admittedly, if I had done it myself, it would have looked a bit rougher...
