I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Do you know of any simple programs, apps, or similar tools to visualize this? Why use a program for this? Take a rope and mark out the areas. Then buy the wood and start building the first raised bed. After completing the first bed, you’ll already see how it will look, and you have freedom with the dimensions. The material cost is low, the required carpentry skills are manageable, and the result is very satisfying. Useful tools include a miter saw, a powerful cordless drill, rigid Torx screws, and strong wood for the sides. This ensures everything stays stable and straight over time. Avoid plans that suggest screwing into end grain, as that won’t hold up long. The stiffer the construction, the better.

@hampshire thanks for the tip. Sometimes the simplest solutions are right in front of you. I’ll try that right away.
No, it shouldn’t be that high. More like 30 to 50 cm (12 to 20 inches). Strictly speaking, it’s not really a raised bed, but just a bed raised enough so that our dog doesn’t mark the flowers and herbs first, and it also visually loosens things up a bit with different levels.
I saw in a picture that you can simply set palisade stones in concrete. So about 20 cm (8 inches) into the ground in concrete, leaving 40 cm (16 inches) exposed. I’ll add a photo.

These narrow strips are not meant to be tall, around 30 or 40 cm (12 or 16 inches) as mentioned. The "rectangle" should be a bit higher, by about 10 cm (4 inches). A Japanese maple or something similar could be planted there. Alternatively, herbs that can nicely cascade over the step would work. Do you have any better ideas? At the moment, I’m a bit overwhelmed trying to create the foundation for a well-designed garden from an empty plot.
