I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

I recently saw a round raised vegetable garden. I would set up several sections like Climbee to avoid stepping inside.
Growing tomatoes without rain protection is possible, even though our climate is rather harsh. Last autumn, I received tomatoes from a colleague who has been growing them for years without any cover, achieving good to very good yields. I collected seeds from them and am curious to see if they will grow successfully. Otherwise, last year I grew Sugar Gloss, The Amateur (which were tasteless), and Cherry Cascade.
The Amateur tomatoes split open, likely because it was too wet for them. Since they didn’t taste good anyway, I won’t be making room for them next season. I’m still surprised at how tasteless homegrown tomatoes can be.

I guess I’m just not skilled enough to transfer something into 3D and then onto paper at different heights.Hausi20 schrieb:
These elongated strips are not meant to be tall, as I said about 30 or 40 cm (12 or 16 inches). The "rectangle" should be a bit higher, about 10 cm (4 inches) more. That’s where a Japanese maple or something similar should go. Alternatively, herbs that can nicely crawl over the step. Or do you have better ideas? At the moment, I’m a bit overwhelmed trying to imagine the basis for a beautifully designed garden from an empty plot.Just start and do it. It will come together.Pinkiponk schrieb:
I happened to discover this kitchen garden by chance during a walk and plan to replicate it for our new home. I think it looks simply beautiful with the round shapes. However, I still need to check if it fits with our square-shaped house.
