I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.

It takes time for the garden to become colorful. If it is as dry and hot where you are as it is here, give it even more time. Despite watering, many new plants have already died this year.
I’m glad I didn’t plant the fruit trees.
Except for the hedge, lawn, and steep slope, I have already watered everything. Still, the hollyhocks have only grown to about hip height.

but I also think it’s an above-average amount of space (large garden) - right?Yes, we do have quite a lot of space here… over 1000 sq.m. (10764 sq.ft). The work is pretty manageable… once it’s in the ground, most plants grow almost like magic. I don’t water much. Only my containers and the greenhouse really need attention.Steffi33 schrieb:
We saw this pretty plant at our hotel complex on Kos. The flowers feel straw-like and dry to the touch. I searched the internet but couldn’t find anything. Maybe someone here knows what it is...? Best regards, Steffi
