Yes, that’s true. This means the driveway, the terrace, and the concrete posts for the fence will be about 2,000 € cheaper than the quoted price. We need the buffer to also pave in front of the house at times.

Today I installed the first two front supports. Unfortunately, the screws ordered for the rear L-brackets are still missing (to prevent the shelter from being blown away like at my brother’s place).

Of course, I only had time because I wasn’t able to take a rapid COVID test.

I need to vent my frustration: I’ve been trying to assemble my raised garden bed for weeks. That means I need to do some screwing and hammering outside in the garden. But I can’t because it’s just too hot. Damn climate change. 🙁

It’s not possible due to lack of rain and water – in this weather, it would be fatal for many plants that are already struggling 🙁

Actually, it’s generally not the best time for that, regardless of this year’s drought.
I also want to make some changes, planned for the end of September, when the plants have finished flowering and naturally lose their leaves, making it easier for them.
However, I did transplant a few large privet shrubs in the last two weeks, and they look healthy. They would have been removed from their original spots otherwise, so it was worth trying. But that means watering them every evening.

I visited an old monastery over the weekend where the highest water levels of the Danube were marked… first and second place, both more than 1 meter (3 feet) higher than the next highest level: in the years 1784 and 1845. So humans can hardly have been the cause of this problem… Yes, the climate is changing, but how much influence humans have on it is the main question I ask myself, especially here in Germany.
