I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

We built an inexpensive pergola with a gate leading to the forest and started working on our Benjes / deadwood corner.
The pergola is quite wobbly (because it was cheap), and we attached it to locust wood posts so it doesn’t have direct contact with the ground.
I also want to let it grow in naturally. I ordered two different native honeysuckles and a native clematis.
Wild grapevine is already growing on the ground, and I will transplant some of it to help it reach the pergola and the hedge faster.
A deadwood hedge really consumes a lot of material, and we have almost 27 meters (about 88 feet) to fill.
We haven’t set all the posts yet, but the beginning is done.
The hedge is between 40 and 50 cm (16 and 20 inches) wide and winds through our small forest strip.
I think it looks very cute (and yes, the pergola is a bit crooked, but I don’t mind 😀).
This is how it looks coming from the forest:

Thank you 🙂.
The house is just warming up and inside it’s 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit), which we’re not putting up with.
And strangely, gardening is more relaxing for me (even though everything hurts today) than the house stuff 😀

Where do you get all the materials from? Are they all lying around in your strip of forest? And what material did you use for the posts?

But I think we will still post an ad online to collect green waste 😀, because what we have isn’t nearly enough. We used locust wood posts, which can withstand ground contact and are very hard.
