Meanwhile, the garden center is hosting late-night shopping for the ladies.

I assume everything will recover after the heat… Everything is dense again. I helped by overseeding, previously scarified with a hand rake and removed the dead grass.
Still, I have a few questions.
Why does moss grow between the grass? Is the soil in that area too wet and with too little sunlight? What can be done about it? There is drainage but what else?
The grass surface is not dense enough for me — should I mow more? Or should I switch grass species, and if so, which ones and how do I apply them — just overseed on top?
