I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Or did you dig it up again?No.. just plant directly and that’s it.. and always mulch well, that keeps the soil moist.
Sob....
I wanted to order roses directly from David Austin and plant them in November – I just find they have the most beautiful roses (the way I like them, and many also have a great fragrance). Yesterday, I received the following message:
“Please note that we are no longer accepting new orders because, under current guidelines, we have had to pause our order fulfillment to protect our staff and the general public. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but we are doing everything we can to support the fight against this disease. Please follow all current and new updates on our website. Customers with pending orders will be offered a full refund or the option to hold their order until we can resume shipping. Our phone lines remain open. Please be aware that response times may be longer than usual.”
Now I can only hope they might be shipping again by November... *sniff*

@Climbee Unfortunately, many shops in the UK do not ship plants to Germany.
@hampshire Do you maybe know any?
Without the pandemic, Climbee would just drive over and visit garden centers and gardens. Islanders really know about flowers and gardens. Also, garden magazines.

Schultheis also looks good, although I find the search for suitable roses there a bit tedious. Thanks!
Our oven is almost finished today (photos to follow), it just needs to be plastered. However, we are supposed to heat it thoroughly before that. We will start this evening. First with 3 kg (6.6 lbs) of wood, then tomorrow with 5 kg (11 lbs) of wood, then once more, and finally I can bake *happy*! This means: the first bread from our own wood-fired oven will be made this weekend! I will prepare the sourdough starter for that.
Outside, I can hear the carpenters who are currently building our wooden terrace (I will take a photo of that in the evening as well).
It’s coming together!!!
