I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

The garden is making good progress here as well. I’m really proud of my husband. He did everything himself. The goal is to have everything completed by next year.
The play area for the children is almost finished. The mud kitchen and the stilt house on the paved area still need to be added.
The garden shed is assembled and already planted in a way that’s friendly to insects.
The frame of the chicken coop is up.

Success and Failure...
The gooseberry standard didn’t make it. It’s completely wilted now and will have to be moved to the compost. On the bright side, there will be new plants in the berry bed next year.
The success isn’t ours though: For weeks, a mole has been causing trouble on my mother-in-law’s lawn. Every morning there are new mounds. Well, yesterday morning she called—there was a mole at her basement entrance. Apparently, the neighbor’s cat caught it to play with, but it escaped and found no way out in front of the basement. The little guy was furious! Now he gets a few hundred meters to explore a new area in a meadow. Let’s see if this ends the mound chaos on the lawn.
In the greenhouses, tomatoes, chili peppers, and cucumbers are thriving. The first small harvest has already been gathered. The flower mix in the bed is just about to bloom… I’m looking forward to seeing what comes up! We definitely have quite a few sunflowers.
The pool has been up for two weeks now. The water is almost bathtub-warm. The “pool heater” has really paid off, even though we currently only have 2 panels running; the plan is to install all 3 panels on the shed roof. But the shed is going to be expanded anyway, so we can do it all at once.
And one more nice thing: My two Nardi sun loungers will be delivered today. Finally! Now I just need a vacation.

So, after spending 2 hours removing weeds from 250 m² (2690 ft²) of lawn and still not finishing, now it’s time for the chemical approach.
Compo lawn herbicide.
I have literally removed three buckets full of thistles, dandelions, and clover. I did the exact same thing about a month ago, and again one month before that.
Yes, many will criticize me now, but I don’t mind. As compensation, I have a 10-meter (33-foot) long and 2-meter (6.5-foot) high wall covered with flowers for bees and insects, which is a bigger balance than many others have.
I just had to get that frustration off my chest, now I’ll rinse it off.
