I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

For us, they are Toro Mini-8 gear-driven sprinklers (flow rate: 3-12.9 liters/min (0.8-3.4 gallons/min)). The irrigation pump sets the system to 3.5 bar (50.8 psi). Overwatering only occurs in very few spots, but definitely not at the brown edges. These are, as shown in the picture, located (almost) directly on the edge next to the curb.
The system was planned and commissioned by a landscape gardener. The landscape gardener did a poor job planning the positioning if the sprinklers don’t cover each other’s reach. The sprinklers themselves are good and probably properly sized at 3.5 bar (50.8 psi). Sprinkler output is noticeably lower close to the sprinkler and at the farthest reach, which causes overwatering. At the edges, you need to extend their throw slightly so enough water reaches the boundary areas.
If you have sandy soil, of course, you need to water more frequently, but try watering 3 times for 30 minutes per week or even just 2 times for 40 minutes. Depending on the runtime and number of zones, schedule the irrigation in the early morning hours.
At the edges, I would try to have the sprinklers spray further outward.
The lawn will never be perfect unless you invest a lot of your own time…

Serious comment.Yes, for birds.
My wren loves all kinds of larvae. However, they also eat a lot of soft food.
