We haven't had any nesting birds in our garden for the past two years, after our cat ate the young fledglings. The birds seem to remember that.

At my parents’ place, there were always birds, despite having up to five cats at times. Since something has been wrong with the magpies for the past three years and my one tomcat caught one almost daily, there are actually quite a few now.
Here, birds are actively nesting in the overgrown shrubs. Cats hardly manage to get through there.
