I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

That view of the church with the picket fence is wonderful… 🙂 and the beautiful tall trees, wow..
I actually like the church even more now that the old clock mechanism is a bit off and the 7 o’clock chimes haven’t sounded for the past few days :p So far, no one has been found who can fix the old device. Until then, we’re enjoying the quiet mornings. But it’s true: it does look nice!

The other trees are along a footpath. In the area where the trees extend closest to our property, we have already had to replace hedging plants four times because the ash trees’ roots spread everywhere and absorb all the moisture. I have also redesigned the entire perennial bed — especially the lower part — since all the plants died due to the root pressure from the trees. I hope I’ve chosen the right plants this time…

And where is the wall or the metal garage? Where would there be work needed?
If I were you, I would have placed the terrace all around the house so you could sit more peacefully in the evening.

The metal box is in the back left of the picture, roughly where the fence is painted yellow. If we had moved the terrace all around the house, it would have wrapped around the corner, right? Is that what you meant?
I didn’t find that aesthetically pleasing. Also, that would lead to more visibility with the other neighbors. Currently, the houses are staggered in a way that when both families are on the terrace, we don’t see each other where the hedge is. I find that quite comfortable. If we add a privacy screen to the left, we’ll already have good visual privacy in the garden.

Whether that would reduce noise, I’m not sure. Maybe a little? We couldn’t have extended the terrace much further to the right anyway.

Yesterday, I tested the tree spotlights. Although they only produce 350 lumens, I believe they will beautifully illuminate the canopy. On Wednesday, the branches will finally be secured in a wire mesh.

Are those RGB spotlights?

We also upgraded our lighting, but with solar power. In reality, the lights are a bit dimmer and have been relocated.

Two glowing, delicate metal spherical lamps casting patterned shadows on a terrace at night.

Our attempt to grow grass (a tree used to be here a year ago, but it was removed):

Here is the attempt at a wildflower “meadow.” Not much to see yet ... 🙁

Wooden deck with dining table and chairs, tulip bed and well-kept garden path.

But it’s slowly getting greener:

We are a bit concerned about these plants because of the discoloration on the leaves (one of the light spheres from the first picture can also be seen):

Yes, those are Philips HUE RGB bulbs.
It looks really good @Schimi1791 🙂

I'm a bit concerned about my turf. It is increasingly turning yellow/brown in some areas, and I don't know the cause.
I fertilized it on Wednesday. Let's see...

A few days ago, I treated our lawn with soil activator. According to the neighbor, this should help.
