I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Besides lawn care, I’m also dedicating a lot of attention to our long-eared furry friends. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, a fox got into the enclosure and took little Felix. Since then, it has been surrounded by an electric fence.

The "team" has now been strengthened by Feline, a small dwarf lop-eared female.

She is very close with Paul (on the right).

Unfortunately, the other two females were strictly against her integration, so she sadly lost a lot of fur around her rear. Poor Paul struggled to keep the peace.

Two rabbits outdoors; one in front with gray-brown fur, the other resting in the back.

That’s why I’m currently working on getting all four used to each other. At first, they were all put together in a box…

…and then moved to a neutral introduction area in the garage. This shows how useful a garage can be. Even here, Feline and Paul are (almost) inseparable, and the other females usually behave well.

I keep an eye on things with some chips and a beer. Almost as calming as an aquarium—or maybe even a robotic lawn mower 😀

I hope that by the weekend all four can return to the enclosure and that the fighting will end.

A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do… 🙄

From this angle, it looks idyllic. What is behind the embankment?
There are trees and various natural plants and vegetation growing there. The zoning plan states that this area behind the embankment should mostly be left to nature, except for occasional trimming. The visible area can be landscaped. Beyond our property is a sports field of a local village sports club. They sometimes play soccer there. 🙂

The neighbors have all covered the embankment with plastic sheeting, but we are considering not doing that. I prefer to look at green weeds rather than black plastic. 😀

Cover it first and then plant.
Don’t underestimate how quickly the plants will grow. The beds may look bare at first, but after a year or two—sometimes even sooner—you will need to thin them out.

I would like to create edges around the flower beds using some brick pavers.
Maybe also border the terrace a few centimeters high with nice stones.

Think carefully about this. When mowing the lawn, edges that you can drive over are better. With raised edges, you often end up with some grass that needs to be trimmed by hand.

Why did you choose different paving stones for the area around the house than for the terrace? I would have kept it uniform, but I’m sure you had a reason for it, right?
