I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Ah, so not that much after all. I thought the 1400 sqm (15,070 sq ft) was the remaining area.

Who can recommend a robotic mower?

My parents have been using a Husqvarna robotic mower reliably for years, and their lawn looks very neat. There are also a few trees in the lawn, which it recognizes well and mows cleanly around. At first, I was worried that all the clippings would stick to your shoes when walking over the lawn, but that’s not the case.
In winter, it’s brought indoors for longer battery life and cleaned.

In my opinion, the top choice among lawn mowers is an Allett cylinder mower with over 100 cuts per meter. The downside is that even the smallest model costs as much as a robotic mower and requires manual operation.

Still, I would personally go with a good robotic mower.

My bosses each have a Husqvarna robotic mower and quite large gardens, and they are completely satisfied with it. We also have a 1400 sqm (15,070 sq ft) garden and will be looking in that direction as well. Although more planting will be done later, it just needs to grow over time.

Leave part of it as a wildflower meadow?
Mowing twice a year saves a lot of time and looks nice; it would fit well with a mature garden.

Tools and a woman are not shared by a man. Period.

We’ll probably do something similar. Maybe around the pond or at the back among the fruit trees. It’s a more natural-style garden, not a manicured lawn. But for now, we’re moving in first and will observe it over the next year before putting our own stamp on it.
