My ski lessons in the late 1980s during the Christmas holidays were regularly canceled due to lack of snow. However, for years we were able to ski right outside the front door. At some point in January, the skis were carried up the street, ski jumps were built on the meadow, and we skied at noon. The equipment was always stored in the garage at the top house. That hasn't been possible for at least 10 years.

We visited friends today, and their earthworms are turning everything over.

I have never seen it on such a scale before. I know they are beneficial creatures, but this doesn’t seem normal.

It should be good fertilizer.

I have also found some additional information by now: the pH value is apparently too high. And during rain, you should collect some; @haydee can gladly send you some.

Sanding is supposed to help.

The problem is that the grass "dies" because of the slime it secretes.
