I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

The climbing wall is the front side of a wooden shelf – made of wood and for wood. These are cross slats about 70cm (28 inches) wide and 2.30m (7 ft 7 in) high. However, the plant has official permission to also grow on the back wall and the roof, as long as it does not get in the way.

I can hardly believe it, and maybe you won’t either, ;-) but I might be able to top all previous recommendations:

Lonicera similis var. delavayi

I first planted two specimens last August to see if and how they stay evergreen through the winter, and I’ve now ordered four more plants. According to my current plan, these won’t be the last ones.

It is described as a "novelty," although I’m not sure what exactly that means. Please feel free to share any disadvantages of this plant, as so far it seems perfect to me.

Plant passport attached.

The fruits are toxic and can cause vomiting and diarrhea, similar to wisteria. Otherwise, it looks good – but it’s totally unsuitable for my garden because it cannot tolerate cold easterly winds (which I get quite strongly exactly where it would otherwise fit).

Have you already tried this plant? We also experience "cold east winds," and since August of last year, it has survived all of them very well. Region 0457x. I read about its sensitivity to wind but wanted to try it anyway.

No, since clearly more cold-resistant plants (on paper) including beech hedge plants, various perennials, and other plants have failed over the winter. Drying out is also an issue in winter.
To the east of my location is only open field (and eventually, matching the wind, there will also be wind turbines).

It is just a honeysuckle after all.
