I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Does anyone have ideas for the slate area?
Our dog mistakes the small slabs for toys, so they need to be removed.
Since the red Japanese maple has dried out anyway, I thought I could plant this 3 sqm (32 sq ft) area either with a nice, low-growing green grass (perennial) or something as wild as on the left side of the photo (Euonymus, lavender, and other shrubs).
So, a 10cm (4 inch) carpet-like ground cover or knee-high plants?

Is it always this shady there? I really love star moss...No, it’s the south side of the house. South is basically where the chairs are; the photo was taken at 7 p.m. Star moss would fit well in terms of soil and appearance. Maybe the undisturbed surface works well there.

We removed tall pampas and miscanthus grass from the garden last year because they became unattractive. So beach grass or rye grass is also out of the question. They grow too tall for me because of the fountain.
The fountain will stay.
