I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Here are a few more pictures of the garden. By the way, the garden is 4 years old! Everything was planted by ourselves.

I love it... even though we wouldn't have built it like this (because I simply find brickwork more attractive) – but wow, the overall impression from your place is fantastic, harmonious, soothing to the eye, and just perfectly balanced! Can you tell I'm impressed? 😉

And so many tomatoes... we grow chili peppers instead of tomatoes, this time 5 varieties, almost 20 plants in total.

I don’t have many photos right now, our garden is just exploding. The 4th summer is starting, and I’m constantly thinning things out... The lawn will be mown halfway by Pentecost at the latest, unfortunately there are hardly any more flowering plants, but a lot of new grass species. At the moment, since the spireas and hawthorn in the hedge are no longer blooming, it looks a bit like a green wall 😉 but I’m optimistic it will look different next year.

Garden with tall grass, wildflowers, central wooden post framework, foreground with pots.

Behind one of the raised beds, we finally installed trellises; I’m curious if the two rose varieties will reach the roof edge.

Flower bed with yellow and orange blossoms, stone edging, and potted plants in front of brick wall.

This year, I’m trying my hand at growing potatoes and corn in containers – we’ll see how that goes...

But the photos are recent, and you only added shutters on the entrance side?

Yes, that's correct.. this was purely about the appearance.. They have no function. The pictures are from today 🙂

I was already aware of that. What surprised me, however, was that you reserved this decoration only for the entrance side. I thought, if it’s going to be "fake," then at least—since it’s now complete—once all the way around.

Oh no.. that’s not necessary. In reality, it’s not noticeable at all.. You don’t get the impression that anything is missing on the other sides.

Yes, exactly. You have by far the most harmonious overall impression of a beautiful unity between house and garden here. Closely followed by @Georgian2019 and several times more expensive by @rick2018, as well as in the 1990s/2000s style by @daniels87 or also the "wooden" look from @Alessandro and @Climbee. In the category "existing house," my "Oscar" would go to @LordNibbler ...
