I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Plastic covers are unnecessary for mature plants and are generally used when you want to protect already started seedlings (vegetables or ones grown from your own seeds) from night frost outdoors.Tamstar schrieb:

They belong in the garden bed and are hardy. It can work well in a pot but not necessarily.Your lilac is hardy and can survive a few years in a pot. Watering is important. You CAN cover it with a polytunnel or wrap it with a protective layer to block wind or provide shade. But you can also leave it as is. A hardy shrub does not need the extra care that seedlings require for a good start.
We recently acquired an old cast-iron bathtub. I would like to use it in the garden. To create some privacy, I have been thinking about how to set this up. My program SweetHome3D was very helpful for that… I’m still considering how to manage the hot water since I’d also like to use it in cooler weather. If anyone has ideas, please step forward.

No matter how you set it up in the garden, if you want to use it in colder temperatures, you need to ensure that the water is continuously heated. Otherwise, it will cool down faster than you can stay inside—especially if the tub is made of cast iron.
So before thinking about design aspects, I would first sort out the technical implementation. I can’t imagine it will be easy. Alternatively, you could limit its use to summer only as a paddling pool; in that case, the water warms up quickly when the sun shines on it, and no technical complexities are needed.

What’s going on in this forum.. first my text changes as if by magic.. and now all images are displayed in XXL… tsk.. tsk.. tsk..
Hot water doesn’t need to be constantly available.. it would be a nice-to-have if it were just warmed a bit before bathing.. I like the idea of a bath heater, for example.. then warm water could also flow in afterwards.. but even used old ones are really expensive at the moment..
