Take the paper off. I recently received one as a gift, which was planted in a very unusual soil—it was heavy and didn’t absorb water.
I would place it approximately under similar conditions as it was in the store. If it was kept indoors there, I would put it by the window; if it was kept outdoors, I would put it outside again. Be careful, though, it might get quite chilly during the next few nights.

Should I water it?

Should I water it?Of course. If the soil is dry, water it. Flowering plants always need plenty of water.M
