I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

May I ask why you say "try"?
I read that it does not bear fruit in our climate zones.
But then I can already look forward to it...

Leaves are just like that, I recently bought a leaf blower, so it’s not such a big deal...
Most gardens nowadays are small enough that raking is not much slower than blowing leaves. The somewhat more basic method of removing leaves has several advantages:
  • no noise – benefiting neighbors and wildlife, and also yourself, as you can do it at midday or on a Sunday without disturbance
  • insects are not deprived of their food source
  • as a result, the humus-forming top layer is better preserved
  • this helps plants to be better protected against drought and cold
  • no unnecessary stirring up of fine dust
  • no unnecessary energy use/emissions
In the end, a raked garden looks nicer and is healthier than one aggressively treated with a leaf blower.
Tip: Feel free to leave some leaves lying around – preferably raked together – more insects, caterpillars, glow-worms, and birds will come; everyone benefits.

Which tool would you recommend for a gravel driveway? A regular rake or a leaf rake would move the gravel along – right?

You’re cleaning the gravel driveway?
I haven’t thought of that yet.
Of course, I clear away masks, bank statements, and coffee cups when we get mistaken for a trash bin again. Leaves hardly ever stay on the ground anyway.

It’s about leaves. They blow around everywhere and also spread onto neighboring properties. Of course, I want to collect them before anyone complains.
At the moment, I’m not doing anything yet because it’s still a construction site with fill sand.

Hmm, I’ll leave it to fly, maybe if it gets bigger sometime.
For gravel, I often use a rake. That way, cat droppings and other animal waste get removed right away.
