I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

We planted the hedge back in 2017. It only lost a significant amount of leaves during the quite severely frosty January 2020. Otherwise, it has remained mostly intact. So it seems that the cold is the deciding factor for whether it is bare or leafy. Here in Northern Germany, it is rarely cold for long periods, so the hedge usually stays leafy, even if the leaves are wilted rather than fir green. By the way, the cold sharp east wind also stripped the leaves off the cherry laurel, which does not tolerate it well either.
I think we will use the European beech.
Basic question: Should I start this project this year, or wait until spring?
It’s about roughly 13m (43 feet) and will probably require the help of an excavator again...
At the moment, I’m not really in the right mindset for it, so spring would actually be preferable.

At the moment, I’m not really in the right frame of mind for it, so spring would actually be preferable.I wouldn’t plant anything now without a good reason.
