I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

I’m just sharing again my lack of understanding when it comes to lawns. They are quite maintenance-intensive chlorophyll deserts with no real value for nature. There are far better alternatives that require less work. Of course, these alternatives don’t look as neat and tidy.
This is, of course, just my personal opinion. What would be your alternative? Evergreen and walkable, you should also be able to lie down on it.

This is just my personal opinion. Okay, I understand that. I can also imagine adjusting the lawn area in a few years. For now, having grass is the nicest and most practical solution for the sandbox, swing, and so on. Around the edges and near the terrace, we have strips with nicely flowering plants. That breaks up the space and adds color.
"Chlorophyll desert" ... grin
I believe it is right to question the still prevailing standard: "A lawn must be mowed often."
If you don't mow, in Germany you usually have to endure strong objections from neighbors: "Impossible! It’s all weeds..."
"Letting nature take its course"—supporting plants and animals—is, in my view, an important aspect of efforts to treat the environment well. Every natural island helps! Even an ordinary person can make a visible positive impact directly.
Of course, you often face resistance for that.
